#Effect of Globalization in on@tcc?

Chetan Bhagat's most of the novels deals with contemporary issues. Young urban middle-class people. He is a twentieth century writer, and knows well that how to sold his books. In his novel One Night at the Call Centre, there is some aspects of modern India. People are working in call centres, so, title itself suggest that writer included several contemporary issues of modern India. Globalization is an economic development, everyone is struggle with their personal angst, the problems which are the causes of globalization.

I’m tired of job hunting. There is nothing good out there. And I’m tired
of rejections. Moreover, what is the point of joining another call center? I’ll
just have to start as a junior agent all over again—without you, without my
friends. And let me tell you this, I may not be team leader, but I am happy I
am content. You realize that?

Globalization can be considered as a step towards the modernization. Where a middle-class man have job issue, love issues and have to struggle with everyday's problems. Fredrick Jameson's "Notes on globalization" as a philosophical issue. There is nothing like globalization in the novel. All are facing different kinds of problems. Friedman's 'The world is flat' note on globalization. People are working in such sectors, call centres, where they don't get better opportunity but it's just temporary jobs. With the help of a novel writer mocks at the movement of globalization.

Comment on narrative structure of the novel on@tcc. Compare with that life of Pi.
Narrative structure :-

One night @ the call center is a controversial novel. The novel's narrative framework in which we can find dream sequence. God has a dream or a real meeting, but the storyteller does not understand it.Chetan Bhagat  himself started the novel that he was on a train from Kanpur to Delhi and he met a woman who told him the story. So the protagonist describes it by dark. Here is a frame description.Unknown Lady-> Chetan Bhagat-> Shyam-> Reader
It also becomes problematic because it takes a different kind of understanding. If we compare it to Yan Martell's pie of life, then it is also the same narrative structure.

Chetan Bhagat makes very good use of prologue and epilogue in his novel. In prologue, writer himself comes as character and talks with the reader. The same thing can  find in life of pi in which Yann Martel Canadian writer meet the person. Both writer present in prologue and told that how they got inspiration. In the both work they meet person who told them stories and after that they collect deep information about it before writing novel. In epilogue there is alternative reading. After hearing story of pi Japanese agents not belived on it at that time pie told another story in which animals replace by humans. In the same happens in on@cc lady gave alternative reading by replacing God lines with Military uncle. So like this both work has Same narrative structure.

What is popular literature? Is on@tcc popular literature? Illustrate.

Popular literature means those writings intended for the. Masses and favour with large audiences. It is different from artistic literature. It only designed for the entertainment. Popular literature has ,

1) Lack of deep philosophy
2) Lack of deep spirituality
3) Not deals with abstract problems
4) Lack of morality / humanity
5) Not challenges the belief of people
6) unacceptable solutions
7) Lack of intellectualism

So popular literature has this kind of structure of the works. In the one night at the call center shows the solutions of the problems through character of God. It has not intellectual solution of problems.
Then she forced him to write it as his second book without mentioning her name. Chetan Bhagat then write story and used one character Shyam for narration. In this way it becomes unreliable. There is similarity of narrative structure between Life of Pi and One Night @call centre. In the life of Pi, the protagonist told the story to the writer, just like the woman in the train telling story to Chetan Bhagat. There are two stories being told and it was upon the writer that which they select to write, the one is with God or the one without God. In both the cases the writer chose to write story with God.

What do you understand by self-help book. Is on@tcc self-help book? Illustrate

self help book is one that is written with the intention to interact it's readers on slowing personal problems. It based on teaching moral lessons and build on philosophy.  In this book Chetan Bhagat focus on the real life problems. Shyam Protegonist almost lost his self confident and love, Military uncle who wants to talk with his grandson , Radhika cheated by her husband and demadable mother in law. All are fed up with  their boss. They all most lost everything in their life.

Theme of Nationalism in the novel

"a thirty-five-year-old

American’s brain and IQ is the same as a ten-years-old Indian’s brain"

There are many incidents in the novel which reflects the theme of nationalism and Anti- American Idea. The character of Vroom is used to satire on the inhuman nature of Americans. He was badly insulted by the American because of his Indian accent. Therefore he built a strong disliking for them. When he asked question to god that why they given to Americans so much wealth not Indians?, then God also gave Anti-American answer by saying that Americans are not the happiest people on earth because it is obsessed with war. God also share Idea to win over Americans. There is praise of Indian people and their level of intelligence. In this way Chetan Bhagat very smartly presents the theme of nationalism in the novel.

4. Cyberpunk novel

Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction. Its characteristics are as follows:-

i) Sci-fi (scientific fiction)
ii) Strong sense of helplessness
iii) Misery
iv) Dystopic Idea
v) Loss of morality/humanity
vi) MN corporations control over the life of workers
