આજની પોસ્ટમાં ENGLISH GRAMMAR નો ખૂબ જ અગત્યનો ટોપિક ARTICLES વિષે માહિતી મેળવીશું
ARTICLES ને બે પ્રકાર મુજબ વહેચવામાં આવ્યા છે. (1) નિશ્ચિત આર્ટીકલ (2) અનિશ્ચિત આર્ટીકલ
(1) અનિશ્ચિત આર્ટીકલ માં A અને An નો સમાવેશ થાય છે.
(2) નિશ્ચિત આર્ટીકલ માં THE નો સમાવેશ થાય છે.
(1) અનિશ્ચિત આર્ટીકલ ( A / An )
જે એકવચન નામનું ઉચ્ચારણ વ્યંજન થી શરુ થતું હોય તો તેની આગળ A આર્ટીકલ મુકવામાં આવે છે.
ઉદાહરણ :- a University ( યુનીવર્સીટી )
a Union ( યુનિયન )
a European ( યુરોપિયન )
a one rupee note ( વન રૂપી નોટ )
a useful cow ( યુજ્ફુલ કાઉ )
જે નામનું ઉચ્ચાર સ્વરથી ( ગુજરાતી ) ( અ , આ, ઈ , ઈ , ઉ , ઊ વગેરે ) શરુ થાય તેની આગળ An આર્ટીકલ મૂકવામાં આવે છે.
ઉદાહરણ :- An honest boy
An honourable man
An S.S.C. student
An M.A.
An LL.B.
(2) નિશ્ચિત આર્ટીકલ ( THE )
કોઈ એક વસ્તુ કે નામનો ઉપયોગ એક વાર થયો હોય અને ફરીથી તેનો ઉપયોગ થાય ત્યારે આગળ the મુકાય છે.
ઉદાહરણ :- This is a cat. The cat is black.
કોઈ પણ જાતી વાચક નામ એક આખો વર્ગ સૂચવે ત્યારે the મુકાય છે.
The cow is a useful animal.
ખાસ કરીને સંજ્ઞા વાચક નામની આગળ આર્ટીકલ મુકાય નહિ પરંતુ .......
નદીઓ ( the Ganga )
મહાસાગરો ( The Atlantic )
પર્વતોની હારમાળા ( The Himalayas)
પ્રખ્યાત ઇમારતો ( The Taj mahal )
ધર્મ ગ્રંથો ( The Mahabharata )
ખંડો ( The Asia )
જહાજો ( The sagar Samrat )
પ્રજાઓ ( The Japanese ) અને
સનાતન પદાર્થો ( The sun ) ની આગળ the મુકાય છે
કોઈ વિશેષણ આખી જાતી સૂચવે ત્યારે the મુકાય છે
ઉદાહરણ :- The black , The blind , The needy
શ્રેષ્ઠતા વાચક વિશેષણ માં વિશેષણ આગળ the મુકાય છે
ઉદાહરણ :- The ganga is the longest river in India.
